PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS
Practice Makes Progress is a collection of drawings, abstract imagery, quotes and essays that explores skill, talent, motivation and progression in the visual world. From beginning to end, this books documents the expressive scribbles of a toddler to the refined pictograms of a design student. The book questions whether all these visual developments are the result of skill or of talent.
The unique motifs in this book are the clear and coloured transparencies; used to facilitate the theme of discovery. Clear transparencies are used on quotes, which allows for control over the pacing of the sentence. Red transparencies are used to reveal details and notes behind the creation of an image while also allowing the accompanying green text to become legible.
